Spring Coloring Pages: A warm coloring image of a rainy window on a rainy day flowers outside--raindrops on window, soft background and tranquil interior mood.
A window fills out a peaceful composition, a window in a nondescript rain, bead-like drop-and-streaks of wetness on the window-panes, a flowering branch outside, a homely sill to which quiet hours can be accosted. On the color, keep to a few hues to create an atmosphere: rainy sky- cool blue-grays; blossoms- soft pinks or white; fresh green enameling of leaves and either warm browns of wood or painted whites, in the frame. First the background should be washed in very light gray-blue so that the blossoms and window leap out (markers or softly layered pencils). In case of raindrops, paint a small white spot almost at the top-left corner of each droplet, apply a thin slice of black crescent at the other end and lightly shade at the inside of the droplet to appear as glass- finally stamp a slight shadow just below the droplet to appear more raised. Streaks are easy: use a piece of charoli or a blade to create vertical, somewhat wavy lines a hue or two darker than the sky and blur the lines to appear they are streaks of water. The colour blooms darker at the bases of the petals and lighter at the tips; dots warm yellow or ochre as stamen and the merest cool shadow underneath the overlapping petals to give relief. Two gauzy greens (warm where there is light, cool where there is shade), and a rapid acentral vein come into life on the leaves. The window frame can either be a painted appearance (very light gray with cool shadows along internal edges) or a wooden appearance (mid-brown foundation with a couple darker grain lines and a light accent along the edges). People: If you have a mug or book on the sill in your line art, you want them to be neutral to not overshadow the flowers; add a slightly diffuse cast shadow just to tie them to the surface.
